Insta-worthy Spots in Orchard Road

It’s not all about mega shopping malls and food when it comes to Orchard Road. The street is also scattered with photogenic spots.

Whether you’re a tourist looking for places to visit in Singapore for a vacation or a local who just wants to decorate your  Instagram feed with a pop of colour, don’t waste that cute outfit you’ve got on and head to these locations to snap a pic for the ‘gram!

1.  Library@Orchard

It doesn’t matter if you’re not a bibliophile, you’ll still be able to appreciate the modern interior design of Library@Orchard.

To get a picture-perfect shot of the library, stand in between the stairs leading to the second floor of the library and get snappin’.

2.  Orchard Gateway Bridge

Joining orchardgateway and orchardgateway@emerald together, the glass tubular bridge and the white poles in the structure will make you feel like you’re walking in a futuristic tunnel. The reflective surface of the floor also makes easier for you to manipulate the image and create those trippy #reflectiongram shots.

3.  Wisma Atria Steps

Brighten up your feed with a “candid” shot as you walk up the lighted steps at Wisma Atria’s entrance.

Sometimes there’ll even be buskers around the area so the steps will act as ’mood lighting’ as you sit along them and enjoy the music.

4.  *SCAPE

A known hangout for local teens, youth park, *SCAPE has got large painted murals adorned on their walls—which definitely makes a unique background for your #OOTD!

If you’re in the area, also pop by Thai eatery, Yentafo Kruengsonge! The store's signature dish, Yen Ta Fo (Thai pink noodle soup), will surely warm your belly and tickle your tastebuds.

If you’re all about having a clean feed, you’ll wanna snap a shot at the architectural highlight of Singapore’s Apple Orchard Road store—the hand-carved curved staircase made with Italian Castagna stone is every minimalist’s dream come true.

The colourful statues may seem a bit kitschy and outlandish, but hey, it’s all for the sake of the ‘gram, right? If you aren’t into them, the reflective exterior of ION Orchard sets a sleek setting for your shot.

View Singapore from 218m above the ground and take a selfie (or wefie) with miniature Singapore buildings and landmarks as your backdrop.

The ION Sky Observation Deck is currently closed for maintenance, but when it reopens, take note of the long waiting lines as the attraction is a tourist hotspot!

The curated lifestyle store, K+, located just opposite Royal Plaza on Scotts regularly holds exhibitions and workshops showcasing noteworthy, new or under-the-radar artists. Some of these exhibits and installations also make a unique addition to your Instagram wall!

If you can’t spare time out of your itinerary to check out the shophouses at Katong, visit the terrace houses along Emerald Hill Road. The buildings in the designated conservation area are decorated with ornate ceramic tile work and intricate plasterwork and wood carvings that’ll add a splash of colour feed!

While the Singapore Botanic Gardens isn’t exactly located in Orchard Road, it’s merely a stone’s throw away!

Take it from Prince Charles and Camilla and have your photo taken as the Orchid Garden, or even at the picturesque bandstand.

Besides the number of ‘gram-worthy spots in Singapore’s first UNESCO World Heritage site, the Singapore Botanic Gardens occasionally organise free outdoor evening concerts for the public as well!
